You don't Need Permission to be an Artist

For most of my life, I felt like I had to wait for people to tell me to be an artist. I was always waiting for the perfect circumstances, the perfect team, the perfect moment. The older I got, I realized those "perfect" things don't exist. I shouldn't have to wait until I book a big acting role to call myself an actor. I am an actor. I don't have to wait until I have a hit record to call myself a musician. I am a musician. How I define myself is not based on what I have access to now, its based on the future I know I want to have for myself.
So, with all that being said, I hope someone reads this and realizes they don't have to ask permission to be an artist. Do you write music? Then you're a musician. Do you paint? Then you're a painter! Don't let what the world doesn't know about you stop you from being the best version of yourself. The world is on fire. Might as well be anything you want to be. Perfection is a myth.
